Apostolic Church Nigeria, Operfia Honours Esther Uyo With Award Of Excellence.
History was made recently as the Apostolic church, Nigeria, Operfia, Iboko District bestowed an award of Excellence titled, “Virtuous Woman of Faith” on Mrs Esther Thompson Uyo in recognition of her meritorious service to the church and society in general.
Presenting the award, the Senior Pastor, Apostolic church Nigeria Operfia, Rev Ejichukeu Jude Joseph explained that the essence of the award is to capture the efforts and achievements of the awardee and not to sweep her good works under the carpet but allow the light to shine in line with the biblical injunction.
He described the awardee as a silent achiever and urged her to keep it up so that the Almighty God who sees in the secret will reward her in the open
” These awardees have in one way or the other contributed to the development of the church by giving scholarship to students, assisting in church building among other areas .
” The essence of this recognition is to capture their efforts and achievements. This is an excellent award. Keep it up and God will continue to bless you.
In a swift reaction, the awardee and a Senior staff of David Umahi Federal University Teaching Hospital, DUFUTH, Uburu, Mrs Esther Thompson Uyo said she was apparently overwhelmed by the honour, noting that she never knew that she is being watched as she goes about her normal activities.
Mrs Uyo added that the award will spur her to action to do more and contribute her own quota to the development of the church and humanity in general.
She commended the church very highly for the love and honour done to her and promise to associate herself with every other good works they are doing.
Also speaking, the husband of the awardee, Engr. Thompson Uyo said the wife has lived an explamlary life worthy of emulation by other women and as such he encouraged her to receive the award .
He called on other men and husband’s to give their wives chance to express themselves and showcase their talents and potentials, adding that such will bring peace to their homes which will translate to a better society.
