Baba Sadiq promises to deepen Ghana-Nigeria ties as High Commissioner
Ghana’s High Commissioner to Nigeria, Baba Sadiq Abdulai Abu, has pledged to deepen bilateral relations between Ghana and Nigeria in his new diplomatic role.
He said he would focus on advancing Ghana’s national interests and also pursue opportunities in trade, investment, technology and education.
The envoy made the commitment after he was commissioned as Ghana’s High Commissioner to the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
“I look forward to contributing to the deep and historic bonds between Ghana and Nigeria, while serving our citizens with dignity, professionalism and commitment,” he wrote in a social media post on Thursday, August 13.
He further expressed gratitude to President John Dramani Mahama for the confidence reposed in him and the opportunity to serve Ghana in the new capacity.
He also said he would work to strengthen bilateral cooperation and pursue areas of mutual benefit between the two countries.
“As the Vice-President, Her Excellency Jane Naana Opoku-Agyeman reminded us, our responsibility is to be visible and effective advocates for Ghana’s national interests,” he said.
The High Commissioner further pledged to serve Ghanaians in Nigeria with professionalism and commitment.
