Asante Kotoko sign teenage defender Emmanuel Sanja from Vision FC
Asante Kotoko have signed teenage right-back Emmanuel Sanja from Vision FC on a three-year deal ahead of the 2026-27 Ghana Premier League season.
The 18-year-old completed his move on Tuesday after passing a medical examination, becoming Kotoko’s latest addition as they strengthen their squad for the new campaign.
Sanja enjoyed a breakthrough season with Vision FC, making 25 league appearances while contributing three goals and two assists from defence. His performances also earned him five Player of the Match awards and a call-up to Ghana’s Under-23 side, the Black Meteors.
Speaking after signing his contract, Sanja described the move as a return home.
“It was not a difficult decision to join Kotoko as it is where I am from and where I completed my senior high education,” he said.
“It felt like returning home after a long holiday. Kotoko is always an attractive club for most young players and I am prepared to play my best football for the club that my family supports.”
Kotoko will open their 2026-27 Ghana Premier League campaign away to newly promoted Debibi United as they seek to mount a strong challenge for domestic honours.
