A Standing Ovation For Prince Bola Ajibola

As Literari Village Holds Literary Day 2026

The Crescent Literari Village of Crescent University, Abeokuta has given a standing applause to the late Founder, Prince Bola Ajibola in his honour, for his numerous contributions to development of education,law, arbitration, literature and humanity.

This came as an outpouring of tributes the Literary Day 2026 themed ” Celebrating the Enduring Literary Legacies of Prince Bola Ajibola”.

The Vice Chairman of the Association of Nigerian Writers, Mr Dare Folarin who was guest speaker, described Ajibola as a phenomenon and a stickler to punctuality who loved writing, journalism and journalists.

Folarin charged writers to write children’s books on Bola Ajibola to teach the youngsters and motivate them a good way of life.

In his keynote address, the Head of Department of Mass Communication and promoter of MASHET global education framework, Dr Kola Adesina, said Prince Ajibola was a consummate literary guru, writer, poet and a humourist who deployed humours to deal with practical realities.

“He was popular with solving problems with local proverbs as a judge of the International Court of Justice”, Adesina had stressed.

Earlier, in his opening remarks, the Registrar, Barr. Zakariyya Ademola Ajibola expressed appreciation to the organizers of the programme in honour of his late father especially the brainchild of Literari Village, Scholar Akanji Olaniyi.

Other speakers, Dr Lucky Aikabeli, Comrade Olukunle Sodipo, Mrs Callista Adebayo

granted that Judge Prince Bola Ajibola’s legacies would endure on humanity.

The Literary Day 2026 also showcased awards of excellence to the Proprietor and Chairman, Board of Trustees, Prince Ma’ruf Adesegun Ajibola SAN, Barr. Zakariyya Ademola Ajibola, Dr Kola Adesina and Mr Dare Folarin.

Also, in recognition of their contributions to the Crescent Literari Village, the pioneer President, Mujeebat Idris, pioneer Vice President/Secretary, Muhsin Ashimi and current Director of Programmes, Roqeebat Onigbanjo also received awards of honour.

Recognitions of excellent service awards were also given to the incumbent executive members that included the President,Mr Alim Adekanbi; Vice President, Miss Hibatullahi Aderohunmu; the Secretary, Mr Taofeeq Elias,and Miss Roqeebah Onigbanjo
