Police Storm Osun SSG’s Residence And Arrest Six Suspects In Possession Of Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs)

By Kingsley Ike

Police operatives on Wednesday raided the residence of the Secretary to the Osun State Government, Teslim Igbalaye, and arrested six suspects found in possession of Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs). The operation was carried out in the morning at the house located at Oroki Estate via the Lameco area of Osogbo.

A security source disclosed that a yet-to-be-ascertained number of PVCs were recovered during the raid at the residence, as further investigation into the alleged possession of the voter cards continues.

The development has sparked heightened political tension across the state, barely weeks before the August 15, 2026 governorship election.

The identities of those arrested were yet to be officially disclosed, and it was unclear whether the recovered PVCs were genuine, lawfully held, or linked to any alleged electoral offence.

Police Public Relations Officer DSP Abiodun Ojelabi confirming the raid and stating that “four of them have been screened, and we discovered that they were not involved; they will be released.”
