Controversial Nigerian singer Habeeb Okikiola, popularly known as Portable, has made a bold claim about his influence in the music industry.

Speaking on Rubbin’ Minds on Channels Television, he insisted that any Nigerian artiste seeking a Grammy win or nomination must collaborate with him.

Portable declared himself the “new-born Fela” and boasted about his unique style and growing influence, adding that many people now look up to him. He also took credit for building Nigerian boxing through his music career, challenging other boxers to compare their earnings to his, claiming no one has made over N100 million or has grace like him.

The ‘Zazuu’ crooner is set to face actor Charles Okocha in a rematch on July 31, tagged ‘Unfinished Business’ at the Balmoral Convention Centre, Lagos.

He said:
“If any artiste wants to collect Grammy in this Nigeria, if you don’t feature me, you’d not collect Grammy. If you want to collect a Grammy nomination, come and feature me. I am the new face—new born Fela. See my style. I have lookalike like thousand look alike. Even many people are looking up to me.”

“I am going for music tour. Now, I have tried for Nigeria. I use my music career to build Nigeria boxing. In 2026, which boxer can come out to say they collected money more than me in this Nigeria? Who has collected more than N100 million? Who has grace like me? I’m a superstar.”
