Nigerian crossdresser James Chukwueze Obialor, popularly known as James Brown, has spoken out following an altercation over his identity, declaring that he will no longer tolerate disrespect.

In a video shared on his Instagram page, he was seen involved in a confrontation with a man while his crew tried to resolve it.

James explained that he was trying to settle an issue involving his team when the man shifted focus and began attacking his identity. He stated that some people see a feminine person and immediately think they are an easy target, but that is where they get it wrong. He warned that confusing femininity with weakness is a mistake, as looking soft does not mean he breaks easily.

He stressed that while people don’t have to like or understand him, they must respect him. He noted that every insult and attempt to break him has only fueled his resilience, and he reminded everyone that respect is not optional.

He wrote:
“They see a feminine person and immediately think, ‘Easy target. That’s where they get it wrong.’

“The biggest mistake you can make is confusing femininity with weakness. Looking soft doesn’t mean I break easily. Smiling doesn’t mean I’m scared. Being graceful doesn’t mean I won’t defend my dignity.”

“This video happened because someone thought disrespect was free. While I was trying to settle an issue involving my team, he stopped talking about the matter and started attacking my identity instead.

“Here’s the lesson: You don’t have to like me. You don’t have to understand me. But you will respect me.”

“I’ve been called every name in the book, yet I’m still here. Every insult became fuel. Every attempt to break me became another reason I refused to disappear.

“People love to test those they think won’t respond. Choose wisely. The same confidence you mock is the same confidence that built my name. I’m not asking the world to accept me. I’m simply reminding everyone that respect is not optional.

“Now tell me…Why do some people mistake femininity for weakness?”
