Antoine Semenyo has warmed hearts after giving a young Manchester City fan his match-worn jersey following City’s dramatic 2-1 win over Bournemouth at the Etihad Stadium on Sunday.

The Ghana international was seen handing his shirt to the young supporter after the final whistle, which made the child’s day.

In the circulating video, the child was seen shedding tears of joy after receiving the jersey. The moment came after City began their 2026/27 Premier League campaign with a late comeback against Semenyo’s former club.

Bournemouth took the lead through Marcus Tavernier in the 26th minute before Marc Guéhi equalised in the 84th minute. Josko Gvardiol then scored in stoppage time to give new City manager Enzo Maresca a winning start in the Premier League.

Semenyo started the game for City against the club he left in January. The 26-year-old joined Manchester City from Bournemouth in a deal worth about £65 million and signed a contract running until 2031.

The forward spent two and a half years at Bournemouth, making 110 appearances and scoring 32 goals before moving to the Etihad Stadium.

Semenyo’s gesture has since attracted attention online, adding a memorable moment to an opening-day victory that City had to fight hard to secure.

For the young fan, however, the result was made even more special by going home with Semenyo’s shirt.
