Ghanaian musician Showboy has come under criticism after making controversial remarks about the wife of Nigerian streamer and content creator Peller, just days after the couple celebrated their highly publicised wedding.

In a video that has since gone viral on social media, Showboy questioned Peller’s decision to marry at a young age and insulted his wife, Jarvis.

“Peller, your wife is very ugly. If you had taken your time, you could have married a more beautiful woman in Nigeria. You’re rushing too much. Can’t you learn from Shatta Wale? Go and ask MDK what happened to him,” Showboy said.

His comments have sparked widespread reactions online, with many social media users condemning the remarks as disrespectful and an unnecessary personal attack on Jarvis. Others argued that a person’s physical appearance should never be used to judge or ridicule a marriage.

Peller, whose real name is Hamzat Habeeb Adelaja, and Jarvis (Amadou Elizabeth Aminata) recently formalised their relationship after months of sharing their love story with millions of followers across TikTok and other social media platforms.

Before their white wedding, Peller travelled to Benin City, Edo State, where he fulfilled the traditional marriage rites by paying Jarvis’ bride price in the presence of both families. The couple also completed a civil marriage before exchanging vows during a glamorous white wedding ceremony on August 1, 2026.

The wedding attracted several celebrities, influencers, and content creators from across Nigeria and beyond. Ahead of the ceremony, the couple generated excitement by unveiling their pre-wedding photos and official Aso Ebi packages, making the event one of the most talked-about influencer weddings of the year.
