Jumoke Alani is set to continue her football career outside Nigeria after completing a move to Turkish club Yüksekova Spor Kulübü.

The 21-year-old Super Falcons defender joins the Turkish side from Nasarawa Amazons, where she established herself as one of the promising young players in the Nigeria Women Football League. She has signed a one-year contract with the club.

Alani’s transfer represents another step forward in her developing career, particularly after an impressive 2025/2026 NWFL campaign.

Her performances during the season earned her a place in the league’s Team of the Season, highlighting her consistency and defensive ability.

Before joining Nasarawa Amazons, the centre-back also featured for Edo Queens. Her performances at club level have helped her gain recognition within Nigerian women’s football and eventually attract interest from a club in Europe.

The defender has also represented Nigeria at international youth level. She previously played for the country’s Under-20 team before progressing into the wider Super Falcons setup.

Alani was part of the Nigerian squad that won the women’s football gold medal at the 2023 All Africa Games.

She was also included in the Super Falcons’ preliminary squad ahead of the 2024 Olympic Games.

Her move to Yüksekova Spor Kulübü gives the young defender an opportunity to test herself in a different football environment and gain valuable international experience.

The transfer also reflects the increasing movement of Nigerian female footballers to clubs outside the country.

For players such as Alani, European opportunities can provide greater exposure, stronger competition and an avenue to further develop their careers.

At just 21, Alani still has considerable room for growth, and regular football in Turkey could help her improve both technically and tactically.

Her immediate challenge will be adapting to her new surroundings and competing for a place in the Turkish club’s defensive setup.

With her recent performances earning recognition in Nigeria, expectations will be high as she begins this new chapter of her career.

The move could also strengthen her case for future selection with the Super Falcons as she continues to develop at club and international level.
