Former Dome-Kwabenya Member of Parliament, Sarah Adwoa Safo, has rejected claims that the funeral arrangements for the late Apostle Dr. Kwadwo Safo Kantanka remain unresolved, insisting that the burial rites will begin as scheduled on Thursday, July 30, 2026.

Her comments follow a statement by her brother, Nana Kwadwo Safo Akofena I, Head of the Safo Family and Leader of the Kristo Asafo Mission of Ghana, who announced that the burial had been suspended due to disagreements over the implementation of the late Apostle’s final wishes.

Nana Akofena I had indicated that no funeral would be held until the courts determined issues surrounding the late industrialist’s will.

However, speaking on Accra-based Angel FM, Adwoa Safo disputed the claim, saying the funeral committee had completed all necessary arrangements after consultations with key stakeholders, including Asantehene Otumfuo Osei Tutu II and former President John Agyekum Kufuor.

She alleged that the Head of the Safo Family failed to proceed with an earlier funeral date set for June 25, resulting in the rescheduling of the burial activities to the last week of July.

Adwoa Safo assured the public that the funeral programme remained intact and urged people to disregard reports suggesting that the ceremony had been cancelled.

“On the 30th of July, we will go to Gomoa Mpota to bury my late father. On the 31st of July, we will be at Independence Square to hold the funeral service. Then, on the 8th of August, we will travel to Asante Mampong in Kumasi for the thanksgiving service. So everyone should disregard the rumours that the funeral will not take place or that it has been cancelled,” she said.

Meanwhile, Sarah Adwoa Safo also revealed that she had successfully undergone surgery after sustaining gunshot injuries during the coronation ceremony of Nana Kwadwo Safo Akofena I.
