Terem Moffi has completed his permanent transfer from French Ligue 1 club OGC Nice to German Bundesliga side Hamburg ahead of the new season.

The Nigeria international becomes the latest addition to Hamburg’s squad as the club prepares for its return to Germany’s top flight.

The 27-year-old striker has also been handed the number nine shirt, signalling the important role expected of him in the team’s attack.

Moffi is Hamburg’s seventh signing of the summer transfer window and will now begin a new chapter in his European career.

The forward said discussions with the club’s coach played a major part in convincing him to make the move.

He was also impressed by Hamburg’s history, supporters and long-term ambitions.

Moffi expressed his excitement about joining the club and said he was looking forward to meeting his new teammates and getting started.

The Nigerian striker is expected to provide goals and attacking depth as Hamburg compete in the Bundesliga.

Speaking about his approach, Moffi said scoring remains a major part of his game, while he also values contributing to the team beyond finding the net.

Hamburg board member Kathleen Krüger praised the striker’s experience and versatility, saying his arrival would strengthen the club’s options in the centre-forward position.

Moffi has played for clubs in six countries during his career and has accumulated 88 goals and 13 assists in 228 competitive appearances.

His move to Hamburg gives him another opportunity to establish himself in one of Europe’s leading leagues.
