Mary Njoku Questions Utility Of Lamborghinis In Lagos Traffic

By Oluwarantimi Oludase

Nollywood actress Mary Njoku has sparked a conversation about the practicality of luxury cars in Lagos after questioning the hype around Lamborghinis.

In a post on her Instagram page, she wondered where owners of the high-end sports cars drive them in a city notorious for traffic and speed bumps.

Njoku expressed confusion over the appeal of driving a Lamborghini on Third Mainland Bridge and navigating through Lagos’s notorious gridlock. She joked that maybe she is the problem or simply can’t afford one, urging Lamborghini owners to educate her on what she is missing.

She wrote:
“Insomnia is dangerous.
I’ve been lying awake for hours, and somehow my brain has decided that tonight’s biggest mystery is… Lamborghinis.

I genuinely don’t get the hype.
In Lagos… where exactly are you people driving these things? From one speed bump to the next? Into traffic? To admire Third Mainland Bridge from a very low angle?

What am I missing?
Maybe I’m just exhausted.
Then again, maybe I’m the problem.
Maybe I’m the silly one for assuming Lamborghinis are meant to be driven fast.

Maybe the whole point is just to look fast while sitting in traffic.

Maybe I’m just exhausted.
Maybe I desperately need a holiday.
Maybe I’m officially getting old.
Maybe I’m just a hater.
Or maybe… I just can’t afford one.
Lamborghini owners, educate me. What am I not seeing?.”
