Manchester United are edging closer to securing the signing of Aston Villa midfielder Youri Tielemans as the club intensifies efforts to strengthen its midfield ahead of the new season.

Elliot Anderson is set to join Manchester City, while Mateus Fernandes has reportedly chosen Tottenham Hotspur over a move to Old Trafford.

Meanwhile, United remain active in the transfer market. Chelsea midfielder Andrey Santos is expected to complete his move to Old Trafford after undergoing medical examinations, with the club continuing to explore further additions before the transfer window closes.

Despite stepping away from the Ederson deal for now, reports suggest United could revisit negotiations later in the summer if circumstances change. However, any renewed pursuit would likely involve revised financial terms.
