Former Portugal captain Luis Figo has intensified pressure on FIFA president Gianni Infantino, calling for his resignation following controversy surrounding a proposal to sell a stake in the FIFA World Cup.

Figo, one of football’s most decorated players, strongly criticised Infantino’s leadership, accusing him of acting in his own interests rather than protecting the integrity of the global game.
