MON, 06 JUL 2026

Black Queens head coach Kim Lars Björkegren has unveiled a 27-player provisional squad for the 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON), set to be staged in Morocco, blending established internationals with a crop of rising talents.

The selection brings together a core of experienced figures and in-form players from top leagues, with captain Portia Boakye leading the group.

Also included are Grace Asantewaa, Princess Marfo, Alice Kusi, Evelyn Badu, Stella Nyamekye, Jennifer Cudjoe, Chantelle Boye-Hlorkah and Princella Adubea, all expected to form the spine of Ghana’s tournament challenge.

The squad also highlights representation from the domestic Women’s Premier League, with home-based players earning call-ups, including Cynthia Konlan Fiindib of FC Samartex Ladies, Osman Huzeima of Jonina Ladies, and Ajegipina Zakaria of Ampem Darkoa Ladies.

The team is expected to resume camping shortly as preparations intensify ahead of the continental showpiece.

Ghana have been drawn in Group D, where they will open their campaign against Cape Verde on July 29 before facing Cameroon on August 2 and Mali on August 6.

All matches will be played at the Moulay Rachid Stadium in Casablanca.
