TOPIC: THE POWER OF GODLY CHARACTER

SCRIPTURE: There is none greater in this house than I; neither hath he kept back any thing from me but thee, because thou art his wife: how then can I do this great wickedness, and sin against God? Genesis 39:9.

Character has been identified as one of the greatest assets of life and destiny. Where there is no character, there can be no sustainable destiny. One thing that distinguished Joseph from his brothers was his positive godly character.

In our study today, we shall look at how important character is to life and destiny.

1. Who you are (or your character) is more important than what you can do.

Your character is more important than what you can do. It doesn’t matter what you can do, if your character is out of order your destiny is out of order. A disordered character will always produce a disordered life and destiny. You may be the best artiste, builder, fashion designer, architect or doctor, all these pale into insignificance when compared with your character.

2. Who you are (or your character) is more important than who you know.

You may know the president or prime minister of your country; and the president may give you recommendations to get a job, but it is who you are (or your character) that keeps the job. Who you are (or your character) is far more important than who you know.

3. Who you are (or your character) is more important than the grade of your certificate.

Your character is more important than your grade or certificate in school. You may have a first class grade but without a first class character, your destiny or future is not guaranteed.

Beloved, what is my counsel to you today? Treasure a godly character. Prioritize the development of quality, positive and godly character above all things. Let people see the character of Christ in you. Prioritize the development of quality, godly and positive character. Refuse to live a life bankrupt of positive character.

PRAYER: Lord, I receive the grace to develop a godly character. Let my life and character point men to You, in Jesus’ Name.
