Galatasaray Reject Arsenal’s Bid for Victor Osimhen

By Okiki Oluwasegun

Galatasaray have reportedly rejected an attempt by Arsenal to sign Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen, reinforcing their determination to keep one of their most valuable players ahead of the new season.

Reports from Turkey claim representatives of the Premier League club travelled to Istanbul to explore a potential transfer for the Super Eagles star.

Discussions were held with Galatasaray officials as Arsenal looked to strengthen their attacking options before the transfer window closes.

Rather than making a cash-only proposal, Arsenal are believed to have offered a player-plus-cash package. The reported deal included Swedish forward Viktor Gyökeres along with an additional €30 million in an effort to convince the Turkish champions to part ways with Osimhen.

Despite the proposal, Galatasaray reportedly declined the offer, making it clear they have no intention of selling the prolific striker at this stage.

The club views Osimhen as a key figure in its plans and is eager to retain his services as it prepares to compete for domestic honours and in European competitions.

Osimhen has continued to attract interest from several top clubs across Europe following his consistent goalscoring displays and impressive performances in recent seasons.

His combination of pace, strength and finishing ability has made him one of the most sought-after forwards in world football.

Although Arsenal remain keen to strengthen their squad before the transfer window shuts, Galatasaray’s firm stance suggests that prising the Nigerian international away from Istanbul will not be straightforward. Unless the Turkish champions receive an offer they consider impossible to refuse, Osimhen is expected to remain an important part of their squad for the upcoming campaign.
