Nollywood actress Sarah Martins has advised women to marry their friends rather than their enemies, sharing a personal encounter to explain her point.

In a video on her Instagram page, she recounted how she offered a ride to a married woman during heavy flooding in Lagos, unaware that the woman was walking with her husband who was far behind.

According to Sarah, the woman accepted the ride, but her husband became furious when he saw her in the car. He shouted insults at both of them, and when Sarah tried to explain, he cursed them.

She noted the hatred and bitterness in his eyes and advised the woman to get down and join her husband to avoid being beaten out of frustration when they got home.

He wrote:
“Try not to marry your enemy. Today, while driving out of my estate, I ran into someone I usually see there. There was so much flood, and I saw her waiting for a cab or something, so I asked her to come in so I could drop her off. I didn’t know she was trekking with her husband inside that flood, and her husband was far away. She entered my car, and the next thing I saw was a man shouting and insulting her. So I asked her who he was, and she said he was her husband. I drove close to the man to explain the situation but he cursed us.

I saw so much hate and bitterness in his eyes. May God save us from marrying our enemies.

I sha later asked her to get down from my car and join her husband in the flood to avoid beating out frustration when she gets home.
