The Nigerian Military has placed a ₦60 million bounty on two high-profile Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP) leaders, Muhammad Jidda and Ibn Muhammad. According to a statement by Captain Mohammed Goni, the Acting Military Information Officer for the Headquarters Joint Task Force (North East) Operation HADIN KAI, these individuals are wanted for their leading operational roles in terrorism within the Lake Chad region.

To fast-track their capture, the military is offering this substantial financial reward to any member of the public who provides credible and actionable intelligence. Officials urge citizens to come forward with information that directly leads to the arrest of these commanders, promising strict confidentiality to anyone who assists security agencies.

The Nigerian military has issued a combined ₦60,000,000 bounty for information leading to the capture of two high-profile ISWAP commanders. An official flyer details a ₦50,000,000 reward for Ibn Muhammad , the commander of ISWAP’s intelligence-focused Amniyya unit, and a ₦10,000,000 reward for Muhammad Jidda , the group’s Jaish (military) unit commander. Jidda, widely known as “The One-Handed Man,” also functions as the deputy leader under the overall ISIS West Africa Province governor, Abu Musa Al-Mangawi (Baa Shuwa) . Other key terrorist figures named on the wanted list include Hamad Abu Hanifa , who serves as the group’s Amirul-Fiya.

This public manhunt follows major strategic breakthroughs recorded by troops of Operation HADIN KAI (OPHK). Military officials confirmed that the intelligence regarding these commanders was uncovered during recent successful offensive operations in Northern Borno State. These synchronized military campaigns target active ISWAP and ISIS strongholds across the volatile Lake Chad region to permanently dismantle their leadership structures.

During the successful operations, frontline troops recovered several high-value technical devices and critical intelligence materials from the fleeing terrorists. Among the seized items was an operational camcorder, which ISWAP insurgents actively used to record their propaganda videos and document their battlefield activities.

Subsequent forensic exploitation of these recovered devices provided military analysts with highly actionable intelligence. This breakthrough successfully exposed key locations tied to terrorist operations and unmasked the identities of several senior ISWAP leaders. These commanders operate predominantly within the Mangari, Metele, and Dogon Chukun axis, along the fringes of the Lake Chad Basin in the Abadam and Kukawa Local Government Areas of Borno State.

The military spokesperson officially listed the newly identified terrorist leaders and key operatives currently being hunted by security forces. The high-value targets include Abu Musa Al-Mangawi (Baa Shuwa), who serves as the Wali or Governor of ISIS West Africa Province. Also identified were his deputy and Amirul Jaish, Muhammad Jidda, known widely as “The One-Handed Man,” alongside Hamad Abu Hanifa, the prominent Amirul-Fiya of ISWAP.

“Operation HADIN KAI wishes to specifically draw the attention of the public to Abu Musa Al-Mangawi Baa Shuwa, the ISWAP Wali, who remains the most wanted terrorist leader operating within the Lake Chad Basin.”

He continued, “The military will offer a substantial financial reward to any individual whose credible and actionable information directly leads to his arrest.”

He assured citizens that all information received will be treated with the utmost confidentiality, and the identity of informants will be fully protected in accordance with established security procedures.

He urged members of the public to support ongoing counter-terrorism efforts by providing credible and timely information that could assist security agencies in locating and apprehending these suspected terrorist operatives.

He, however, cautioned,”Citizens are strongly advised not to confront or attempt to apprehend the suspected terrorists under any circumstances.”
