The Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) has attributed a power outage affecting parts of the Accra West Region to broken high-tension (HT) poles at Sowutuom.

The outage is affecting several communities, including Sowutuom Mambo, Glorious Jesus, Ablekuma Fanmilk and Ablekuma Abease.

Other affected areas include God First, Roman Park, Piteo Junction, Vicolis, Olebu Melcom and surrounding communities.

In a notice issued on Wednesday, August 12, ECG said its engineers had been deployed to address the fault and restore power to affected customers.

“The outage being experienced is as a result of broken high tension poles at Sowutuom,” the ECG said.

“ECG wishes to assure affected customers that our Engineers are working to resolve the challenge and restore supply,” it added.

ECG apologised to customers for the inconvenience caused by the outage and urged affected residents to bear with the company as it works to resolve the issue.
