England midfielder Jude Bellingham etched his name into FIFA World Cup history after delivering another match-winning performance in the Three Lions’ 2-1 victory over Norway in the quarter-finals.

The Real Madrid star scored both of England’s goals to send his country into the semi-finals, where they will face defending champions Argentina in what promises to be one of the tournament’s biggest encounters.

Bellingham’s latest display also secured him a unique place among football’s greatest World Cup performers.

After netting twice against Mexico in the Round of 16, he repeated the feat against Norway, becoming only the seventh player to score braces in back-to-back knockout matches at the tournament.

The remarkable achievement places the 23-year-old alongside some of the sport’s most celebrated legends.

Only a handful of players, including Italy’s Silvio Piola, Hungary’s Sándor Kocsis, Brazilian icons Pelé and Garrincha, Argentina’s Diego Maradona and France’s Kylian Mbappé, had previously managed the feat.

Bellingham has emerged as England’s standout player during the competition, combining creativity, composure and clinical finishing to inspire his team at crucial moments.

His consistent performances have strengthened England’s hopes of winning their first World Cup title since 1966.

With a blockbuster semi-final against Lionel Messi’s Argentina now awaiting, the midfielder will once again be expected to lead England’s charge. Another influential display could take the Three Lions into the World Cup final while further cementing Bellingham’s reputation as one of the finest players of his generation.
