A patriarch has fallen, but his legacy stands tall like a cedar of Lebanon. We celebrate the transition of Pa Samuel Aliemeka Iruh, who began his earthly journey on January 2, 1938, and peacefully returned to his Maker on March 7, 2026. Having completed his earthly race, he passed away peacefully at his residence at No. 46 Seriki Street, Agbado Station Opeilu, Ogun State—the very home that served as a sanctuary of love and wisdom for all who knew him.

Pa Iruh was more than just a father; he was an institution of character. In an era of fleeting values, he stood as a testament to the enduring power of humility, hard work, and faith. His life was not measured by the noise of the world, but by the depth of his roots and the strength of the branches he nurtured.

His greatest legacy is mirrored in the lives of the children he raised—a lineage of achievers, leaders, and servants of God who carry his flame across the globe. “A father’s legacy is not in the possessions he leaves behind, but in the people he helped build. He didn’t just tell his children how to live; he lived, and let them watch him do it.” Through him, the world was gifted eight exceptional citizens—eight lives he cherished deeply and who, in return, held him in the highest honour. His legacy is etched in the love and character of:

Pastor Elvis Iruh, whose vision through The Voice Achievers Award and ministry continues to echo his father’s spirit of excellence and global impact. Agatha Samuel, his beloved daughter, a reflection of his nurturing grace. Engr. Leonard Bamidele Iruh, embodying his father’s precision and structural integrity. Victor Nwane Iruh, a testament to his resilience. Mrs. Lilian Akintokun, carrying forward his warmth and family values. Henry Agbajama Iruh, Kuzi Marvin Iruh, and Ugo Mercy Iruh, who all stand as living monuments to his tireless dedication to fatherhood.

Pa Samuel Aliemeka Iruh, “Uncle Sam” as I and numerous others fondly call him was a man who understood that a house is built with bricks, but a home is built with love. His presence at his residential neighbourhood was a source of stability; his counsel was a compass. He taught his children that the true measure of a man is his ability to leave the world better than he found it—a task he has undeniably accomplished.

As we bid farewell to Uncle Sam, a titan of peace, we do not mourn as those without hope. We celebrate a life well-lived, a race well-run, and a peaceful return to the Creator. Above all, we thank You for the 88 glorious years of Pa Samuel Aliemeka Iruh. We thank You for the wisdom he shared, the love he sowed, and the eight great citizens he raised to impact the world. As he rests in Your bosom, we pray that You comfort his children. May the peace he lived by remain in their homes, and may the light he kindled never go out. Grant him eternal rest in Your heavenly kingdom.

I and my family are reluctant to bid you farewell, but we have found expression through this tribute—a final salute to a life of quiet dignity and immense impact.

Sleep on, Uncle Sam. A Great Soul. Your name is etched in gold, and your legacy lives on in every life you touched.

Rest in Perfect Peace, Pa Samuel Aliemeka Iruh.
