Royal Air Maroc Announces 3 New Special Flights for Moroccans
Rabat – Moroccan national carrier Royal Air Maroc (RAM) has announced three new special flights for repatriating Moroccans stranded abroad.
Royal Air Maroc informed customers that two flights from Liston to Agadir are scheduled on December 22. The company also scheduled one flight from Istanbul to Agadir. The flights are accessible to all Moroccans stranded abroad.
Eligible passengers include Moroccans residing in Morocco who have left the country since September 1 as well as their accompanying spouses and children.
Passengers have to present their ID card or passport with an address in Morocco and a negative PCR test taken in less than 48 hours.
Royal Air Maroc’s flights are part of the company’s special plan after Morocco decided to suspend air travel against the spread of COVID-19.
Travel suspension is ongoing from November 29 until December 31. It remains uncertain whether Moroccan authorities will extend the measure.

The suspension caused uproar among citizens stranded abroad. In response, Moroccan authorities allowed special flights to repatriate citizens.
After the emergence of the first Omicron case in Morocco, the government decided to suspend the repatriation flights dedicated to citizens stranded abroad, starting December 23.
People have to book their return tickets in accordance with Royal Air Maroc’s emergency schedule as there will be no repatriation flights after December 23, the government noted.
Morocco’s Interministerial COVID-19 Monitoring Committee said on December 15 that the decision comes due to the worrying epidemiological situation in some European countries.
The committee also said it will continue to place the preservation of citizens’ health above all other considerations.
Passengers benefiting from the repatriation flights will undergo seven-day confinement in hotels dedicated to the measure. The government will pay for hotel confinement, while passengers have to cover their repatriation tickets.
