Niyi Akinmolayan Shades Online Critics Over Body Odour
Renowned filmmaker Niyi Akinmolayan has taken a swipe at his online critics, seemingly reacting to a recent encounter with one of them.
In a recent post on his Instagram story, he advised those who attack him and his work online to maintain basic hygiene if they ever meet him in person.
Akinmolayan suggested that while he is open to having conversations with his critics, they should at least be decent enough not to have body or mouth odour.
He wrote:
“If you are going to attack me and my work online and I meet you in person. At least be decent enough to not have body and mouth odor: We might actually have a conversation.”
Niyi Akinmolayan is one of Nigeria’s top filmmakers, known for his work on several projects and has consistently pushed boundaries in Nollywood.
His recent theatrical release on December 24, 2025, ‘Colours of Fire’ has been a subject of discussion since its streaming debut on Netflix on August 7, 2026.
The movie has been subjected to immense criticisms form many movie lovers, who have questioned its use of AI and visual effects, while others have praised its ambition.
