Macky Sall decides NOT to run for President of Senegal 3rd term

The president of Senegal Macky Sall has made his decision not to run for the presidency of Senegal for the third time.

He made his decision known to the public via his official Twitter account @Macky_Sall

He said “My dear compatriots, my long and carefully considered decision is not to be a candidate in the next election of February 25, 2024. And this, even if the constitution gives me the right to do so.”

Macky Sall has been President of Senegal since April 2012. He was re-elected President in February 2019.
