Israel Adesanya summons the Undertaker to destroy Jared Cannonier retaining UFC middleweight title

Israel Adesanya the UFC middleweight champion wiped off the challenge of Jared Cannonier clean in a masterclass title defence filled with technical precision at the recently concluded UFC 276 and by all indicators looks set to have a revenge match against Alex Pereira coming next – the only man to have ever knocked him out.

Adesanya dominated all five rounds, he did not face an opponent who put him in trouble. Cannonier didn’t even try, he didn’t know what to do against the champion. The fight did not have much action and at the end of the bout the fans reproached both fighters with loud boos.

The UFC middleweight champion’s clash with his American challenger never quite ignited and Cannonier struggled to lay a finger on the elusive Nigerian for large sections of the contest.

In the end the judges gave: all for UFC middleweight champion Israel Adesanya 49-46, 49-46, 50-45.
