Ghana Govt to acquire Expresspay with $40m for E-levy implementation – Sam George
Member of Parliament for Ningo-Prampram Constituency of Ghana Sam George has accused the Ghana government in an interview of dubious engagements with Expresspay payment platform for the implementation of the newly passed E-levy.
In the interview with MetroTv, he explained the technical conditions the E-levy platform has to posses in order to charge users effectively and his skepticism of Expresspay to effect those technicalities. Sam George also revealed that Expresspay will be engaging with a third party cloud services partner (Amazon AWS) to run the platform which he also criticized heavily.
According to the E-levy law which was tagged as “Illegal”, Mr Sam George clarified that it states the Government is not allowed to deal with a private company on the implementation of the E-levy.
