Edo 2024: Commissioner urges Youths to Vote Asue Ighodalo to sustain benefits of Obaseki Government

Edo State Commissioner for Youth and Humanitarian Affairs, Hon. Zubairu Dada Abubakar has assured youths in Edo State of continuing enjoying the massive benefits they are getting from the Governor Godwin Obaseki led administration when they vote for Dr. Asue Ighodalo and Barrister Osarodion Ogie.
Speaking during a meeting with representatives of Youths organizations from the eighteen local government areas in his office, the Commissioner said there is no doubt about the capacity and character of Asue Ighodalo which has made him the most accepted candidate in the governorship race.
“We want you to continue to support Governor Godwin Obaseki to finish well and strong and as you know, part of finishing well and strong is to produce a worthy successor; I therefore urge the Youths to give Dr. Asue Ighodalo and Osarodion Ogie (Esq) massive support to win the September 21st, Election to continue the good work of the Governor in Making Edo State Greater,” he noted.
The Special Adviser on Youth to the Governor, Hon Shedrach Udugbai who also disclosed that the state government has given youths in the state listening ear, said it is only Dr. Asue Ighodalo that can sustain the interest of the youths.
He urged members of the various youth’s interest groups to come out and vote for Asue Ighodalo who is taking the lead in terms of competency and in the best position to deliver the dividend of democracy to them.
The Youths who are representatives of various interest groups and coordinators of the National Youth Council of Nigeria, NYCN in the eighteen local government areas in the state noted that it is the collective responsibility of youths in the state to support Asue Ighodalo to sustain the good works of Governor Godwin Obaseki.
The Chairman, Forum of Local Government Coordinators, NYCN, Comrade Aigbobiosa Asenoguan, said that the Youths have enjoyed massive support from Governor Obaseki, adding that, “we want to ensure that there is continuity with Asue Ighodalo.”
“It would be recalled that apart from the tenure of Chief Lucky Igbinedion as governor of the state, it is during the tenure of Governor Obaseki that the youths have received massive and tremendous support from government.
“If this government has the initiative of doing all that has been done for youths, we will ensure there is continuity with Asue Ighodalo because he is the most accepted, character wise and that is what we have decided,” he added.
The Chairman of the National Youth Council of Nigeria, Comrade Moses Agwinede had earlier disclosed that Governor Obaseki has provided uninterrupted support to the youths in the state and there is need to give him support.
“This meeting is on why we should give support to the governor because we are determined to finish well and strong with the governor. Today, the governor has provided free wifi at the youth house and the provision of uninterrupted electricity from Ossiomo power plant is ninety percent completed.
“The government allocated N2billion for the completion of the second phase of the Youth House and N3 million monthly subvention to the Youth council to run its affairs. The governor has also approved plans on how the local government arm of the Youth Council will be funded,” he added.
