As Christians all over the world celebrate Palm Sunday also known as Passion Sunday, the Catholic Archbishop of Kaduna, Most Rev Matthew Man-Oso Ndagoso has urged Nigerians not to lose hope.
The archbishop gave the charge yesterday at the celebration of Palm Sunday at St. Joseph Catholic Cathedral, Kaduna.
“We can never give up, God has not abandoned us. We should not lose hope, God in his own time will rescue Nigeria”.
Ndagoso also called on Nigerians to turn back to God in prayers, adding that God is a loving father and ever ready to accept his people.
He said, “ This is a time of intensive prayers and fasting. We should live peaceful and humble lives, and one day Nigeria will emerge as a peaceful country.”
The archbishop however lamented about the current economic situation in the country, saying that Nigeria has leaders who don’t care about their people.
He said, “Nigerians are dying of hunger and yet we have leaders who are selfish, leaders who don’t care, politicians who have blindfolded us with lies during campaigns, it is quite unfortunate.
“Human lives have no value again in Nigeria, killing is no longer news, killing is now a normal thing in our country, it is so painful,” he stressed. Archbishop Ndagoso prayed to God to rescue Nigeria from her present challenges.
