Abubakary Jawara donates to Gambia National football team ahead of AFCON 2022
The Gambian National football team, the Scorpions received a significant boost from successful Gambian businessman, Abubakary Jawara who made a kind donation of five hundred thousand dalasi (500,000.00) equivalent of close to 10,000 dollars to the team to support them in their preparation to contest for the African Nations Cup in Cameroon.
Honorable Abubakary Jawara is the Chief Executive Officer of Gach Global trading company, one of the leading business partners of the government of the Gambia. He said in a press statement that the success of the National team is the glory of all Gambians and he called on fellow Gambians to support the National team during the competition.
“We need to support our national team, the team is representing the people of the Gambia therefore my donation is to wish the team best of luck as they will put up their best performance for the Gambia on a Global football stage”.
In reaction to his kind gesture, the Nemasu Market Vendors Association through its chairwoman expressed a big thank to you to Mr. Jawara for his benevolent support to the scorpions. According to her, charity begins at home. A true giant and a champion in the course of our motherland development both in terms of social and economic development as well as individual transformation to a productive citizenry has been the hallmark of Mr. Jawara’s business philosophy. “We salute your endeavours and efforts with in this passionate gesture to our national team. May Allah, the creator of heaven and earth give you more prosperity in health, unshakable security, peace and the will and power to continue such gestures in support of humanity.
According to Mr. Jawara he would be giving one hundred percent support to the team as they being the campaign for the trophy in Cameroon.
On January 13th 2022, in Group F, the Gambia would play its opening match against Mauritania.
