Tottenham boss De Zerbi praises Mohammed Kudus after Forest cameo

SUN, 06 SEP 2026

Tottenham Hotspur head coach Roberto De Zerbi has praised Mohammed Kudus for his impact off the bench following Spurs’ Premier League match against Nottingham Forest.

The Ghana international played 29 minutes after replacing Savio in Saturday’s Matchday Three encounter at the City Ground, producing a composed display despite his limited time on the pitch.

Kudus completed all eight of his passes and succeeded with one of his two dribble attempts, earning recognition from his manager after the final whistle.

Speaking to Sky Sports, De Zerbi said the substitutions were prompted by fitness concerns rather than tactical changes.

“In the second half, the medical team pushed to change Savio and Destiny Udogie after 60 minutes,” he said.

“Kudus and Andy Robertson played very well, but maybe two substitutions at that moment were not so good.”

The 26-year-old will be hoping his encouraging cameo strengthens his case for more minutes when Tottenham host Everton in their next Premier League fixture on Saturday at 16:30 GMT.
