The Nigeria National League has issued new financial and administrative requirements for the 34 clubs preparing for the 2026/27 campaign.

The league warned that teams with outstanding debts or incomplete licensing documents could be prevented from taking part in the new season, which is scheduled to commence on October 31.

Under the new directives, clubs must demonstrate that they have cleared outstanding payments owed to players and coaches, including salaries, allowances and sign-on fees.

Teams with unresolved disputes will also be required to secure clearance from the NFF Arbitration Committee before completing their registration.

Each participating club must additionally provide a N20 million financial guarantee as evidence that it has the resources to complete the season.

The NNL has also made several administrative documents mandatory. Clubs are expected to submit properly executed contracts for players and officials, evidence of payment of league fines and fees, and valid Corporate Affairs Commission incorporation certificates.

Teams must also disclose their ownership structures and comply with the NFF Club Licensing Regulations.

Venue standards form another part of the requirements, with clubs expected to have approved home grounds equipped with functional dressing rooms and medical facilities. Insurance cover for players and officials is also compulsory.

Coaches must possess the appropriate CAF licences to meet the league’s technical requirements.

Registration for the new season is already underway, with clubs warned that failure to meet the conditions by the deadline could result in exclusion.

Four teams will gain promotion to the Nigeria Premier Football League at the end of the campaign.
