Highlife musician Barosky has been repatriated to Ghana after becoming stranded and homeless in Manchester, United Kingdom, Foreign Affairs Minister Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa has confirmed.

Mr Ablakwa said the Ministry of Foreign Affairs fully financed the musician’s return to Ghana, with the repatriation completed last night.

He said the ministry would also provide further assistance to help Barosky adjust to life back home following his ordeal in the UK.

“We are also providing psychosocial support and reintegration financial assistance,” Ablakwa said on social media.

Barosky’s plight came to public attention in August 2026 after media personality Nana Romeo published a video showing the musician sleeping on the streets of Manchester.

In the video, Barosky recounted the difficulties he was facing, including struggles to obtain food and find a place to wash. He also disclosed that he had lost contact with his family in Ghana.

The video generated widespread concern and prompted calls for immediate intervention to assist the musician.

The Ghana High Commission in the UK subsequently stepped in, while members of the Ghanaian community also mobilised support in response to his situation.

Mr Ablakwa has now confirmed that Barosky is safely back in Ghana and has been reunited with his family.

The Foreign Affairs Minister expressed gratitude to Ghanaians who helped bring attention to the musician’s plight, singling out Nana Romeo for his role.

“We are most grateful to our fellow citizens, particularly Nana Romeo, for bringing Barosky’s heart-wrenching plight in Manchester to our attention,” he said.

He also praised Ghana’s High Commission in the UK for its role in coordinating the intervention and facilitating Barosky’s return.

“I commend our High Commission in the UK for its impressive coordination,” Ablakwa added.

Mr Ablakwa reiterated the ministry’s commitment to supporting Ghanaians who find themselves in distress while abroad.

“We strive to leave no Ghanaian behind. For God and Country,” he said.
