Ghana WASSCE Results Out: Over 3000 results withheld.

The West African Examination Council announced on 8th December that it has released provisional results for candidates who sat for the 2021 WASSCE.

The body responsible for coordinating high school certificate examinations said that it will make the results available in the schools so candidates could contact their schools for their results.

WAEC has also made provisions for the results to be accessed by candidates digitally by visiting the council’s website or by dialing *994# on any local network.

According to WAEC, a total of 446,352, candidates wrote the examination, an 18% increase from last year’s of which 49.6% are males and 50.4% are females.

Amongst the core subjects, Mathematics had the least pass(A1-C6) and the most fails(F9) percentages with 54.11% and 20.11% respectively.

Social studies had the most pass percentage while Integrated Science had the least fails percentage with 66.03% and 4.68% respectively.

However, subject papers of 1339 candidates have been cancelled by the council as well as the entire results of 174 others and have been approved by the Ghana examination council.

Also, the entire results of 3667 candidates have been withheld pending investigations and scrutiny by the council.

The council further cautioned that candidates be vigilant of scam in their effort to check their results.

In their conclusion WAEC wrote;

“The council wishes to express its sincerest gratitude to all stakeholders especially the Ministry of Education, Ghana Education Services, Security Agencies and Examiners, for their support and cooperation during the conduct of the examination and release of results.”
