During Drew’s four-day state visit starting March 3, 2026, Ghana’s President John Dramani Mahama announced the expansion of a 2018 visa waiver agreement to include ordinary passports, aiming to boost tourism and trade.

The leaders held bilateral talks on investment, health, and education, exchanged gifts like a traditional Ghanaian fugu and a carved conch shell, and planted a ‘Tree of Life’ to symbolize their partnership.

Drew praised Mahama’s UN speech and pledged CARICOM support for his slavery resolution, highlighting shared Africa-Caribbean history amid plans for professional exchanges and university ties.
