Ruben Amorim’s AC Milan ended Manchester United’s pre-season campaign on a disappointing note after securing a 4-2 comeback victory over the English side in Wroclaw.

United started brightly and needed less than two minutes to take the lead. Bruno Fernandes delivered a dangerous corner into the penalty area, with Harry Maguire rising above the Milan defence to head the ball into the net.

Milan gradually settled into the contest and eventually found an equaliser before half-time. Samuel Chukwueze reacted quickly inside the box to finish after United struggled to deal with an attacking move.

Fernandes then had a chance to put his side back in front from the penalty spot, but Milan goalkeeper Lorenzo Torriani produced an impressive save.

United regained the advantage after the interval when Patrick Dorgu found the net, but their lead did not last. Alphadjo Cisse soon restored parity for Milan, setting up a dramatic final period.

The Italian club then took control of the match. Goncalo Ramos put Milan ahead with a header following another Chukwueze-created opportunity, before former Chelsea midfielder Ruben Loftus-Cheek completed the scoring three minutes later.

Despite the defeat, United had one encouraging moment as Marcus Rashford returned from the bench. It marked his first appearance for the club since December 2024.

The result leaves United with defensive concerns to address before their Premier League opener against Hull City, while Amorim’s Milan head into the new season with momentum from an impressive pre-season finish.
