Nollywood actress Adunni Adewale, popularly known as Adunni Ade, has initiated legal proceedings against the operators of the Instagram blog ‘Instablog9ja’ over allegations of defamation and manipulation of her social media posts.

The actress shared the court proceedings on her Instagram page on Friday and captioned it with, “Update on court case. Adunni Ade vs Instablog9ja. Court orders Instablog9ja to reveal its identity.”

According to the image, the case came before the High Court of Ogun State on Wednesday, August 19, 2026, resulting in a court order directing the blog to disclose the identity of its operator.

The lawsuit, filed as Suit No. HCO/297/2026, lists the defendant as an “Unknown Person” trading under the name and style of Instablog9ja.

During the proceedings before Justice A.A. Babawale at the Isheri/Ojodu Judicial Division, the respondent’s counsel, Ayodeji Fasehun, informed the court that he had received the court processes two days earlier and intended to file an application to reveal the identity of the respondent. The court subsequently ordered that the respondent’s response must indicate the name of the person behind the Instagram account.

The case has been adjourned to August 31, 2026, for mention.

The legal action stems from a dispute that intensified in June after Adunni Ade accused Instablog9ja of manipulating social media posts concerning her and her newborn child.

She alleged that the blog deliberately merged separate content to alter the meaning of her original posts and had repeatedly bullied and ridiculed her over the years.

This is not the actress’ first legal battle over online publications, as she recently secured a N30 million judgment against Google over false online stories claiming that she had a romantic relationship with Senator Dino Melaye.

Similarly, a Lagos High Court awarded the actress the sum of N3 million against Vanguard Media Limited over false reports.
