Ghanaian media personality Baaba Cann has called for legal action against actor Emmanuel Nii Adom Quaye, popularly known as Strika, following a recent alleged theft incident involving a public footbridge at Kwashieman in Accra.

Speaking on UTV’s United Showbiz, Baaba Cann argued that Strika’s reported actions constitute an offence and should be dealt with through the appropriate legal process.

Her comments come after a video of Strika went viral on social media, allegedly showing the ‘Beasts of No Nation’ actor removing metal components from a footbridge at Kwashieman.

According to reports, some residents confronted Strika after allegedly finding him dismantling parts of the public infrastructure, with claims that the materials were intended to be sold as scrap metal. A police officer reportedly arrived at the scene and accompanied him for further investigations.

The incident, which reportedly occurred around August 29, 2026, has generated significant public debate, with some Ghanaians demanding that the actor face the law if the allegations are established, while others have appealed for compassion given his difficult circumstances.

Strika gained international recognition as a child actor after starring in the 2015 Netflix film ‘Beasts of No Nation’. However, his life after the movie has been marked by several struggles, including periods of homelessness and attempts to rebuild his life through various jobs.

In April 2026, he was reportedly working as a security guard at a shopping mall in Accra, a development that had sparked conversations about the challenges facing child stars after their early success.

His latest controversy has also revived discussions about previous challenges involving the actor. In 2025, Strika was reportedly part of Dr Likee’s Akabenezer camp before leaving following a separate dispute involving an alleged theft accusation. Reports indicate that he later apologised and sought another opportunity to work with the group.

Meanwhile, content creator Headless YouTuber has also called for Strika to be arrested over the latest allegations, arguing that he should face the consequences if found to have committed an offence.
