Former Nigerian international Peter Odemwingie has signaled his intention to pursue legal action against Sky Sports, West Bromwich Albion, and Queens Park Rangers, more than a decade after a botched transfer deal turned him into one of Premier League deadline-day’s most enduring storylines.

Speaking to The Sun, the 45-year-old former striker revealed plans to meet with a lawyer in the coming week, driven by frustration over how frequently footage from the January 2013 saga continues to resurface.

The incident saw him drive to QPR’s Loftus Road stadium under the impression that his move from West Brom had already been finalized.

Taking to Instagram, Odemwingie stated that representatives from Sky Sports, along with staff at both clubs involved, owe him answers regarding what actually transpired that day.

He also questioned the broadcaster’s repeated decision to air the clip over the years, calling it disrespectful from a purely human standpoint.

In a video posted alongside his written statement, he went further, accusing Sky Sports of profiting off the moment for over a decade without any genuine interest in clarifying what really happened, describing the network’s actions as deliberate exploitation.

Odemwingie also revisited that day’s events, explaining that his then-agent, Barry McIntosh, had assured him the deal was complete before they both drove toward QPR’s stadium together.

Ultimately, the transfer fell apart when West Brom and QPR couldn’t reach agreement on a fee before the deadline passed, leaving Odemwingie to finish out the season with West Brom.

He additionally criticized QPR for auctioning off a shirt that had been prepared in anticipation of his arrival. All three parties have been contacted for their response to his renewed allegations.
