What Peter Obi will not and cannot do by his nature furnish more compelling grounds to elect him as President, than what other presidential candidates promise they will do.

Nigerians, do not get it twisted.
Nigeria desperately needs the bredrin Peter Obi as President more than ever before, and even more for what he will not do, which speaks directly to Nigeria’s current quagmire, than what he will do.

What Peter Obi will not do as President include:

He will not fudge results or documents.

He will not persecute political opponents.
He will not loot or steal.
He will not award contracts to his family or cronies.

He will not rig elections.
He will not lie or cheat.
He will not allow anybody to steal from the Treasury without heavy sanctions and repercussions.

He will not persecute or manipulate other political parties.

He will not downgrade the rule of law.
He will not fail to address the current high and unsustainable cost of governance.

He will not indulge in propaganda.
He will not take foreign loans except they are tied to specific projects capable of growing Nigeria’s GDP

He will not engage in tribalism or sectarianism, or religious bigotry.

He will not be President of only his section of Nigeria.

He will not divide Nigeria or Nigerians by acts of nepotism.

He will not project or carry himself as King or Emperor of Nigeria.

He will not make himself inaccessible to Nigerians or hide in the Aso Rock presidential villa bunker, only reemerging when it is time to seek a second term.

He will not enjoy his vacations and holidays abroad.

He will not engage in medical tourism abroad.

He will not waste scarce public resources on himself, or his family, or his entourage.

He will not seek public adulation.

He will not be slow to admit his mistakes, or to take responsibility for his actions as well as inactions.

He will not attack his traducers.
He will not allow his properly brought up children to parade themselves, up and down, flaunting their heritage and temporary status as members of the first family.

He will not bribe the Judiciary.
He will not deploy the Army, Police, EFCC, DSS, and other investigative or security agencies to intimidate Nigerians.

I n I can go on and on but choose to stop here for reasons of time and space.

Alone and by themselves, these things Peter Obi will not do are sufficient grounds that elevate him far over and above any other presidential candidate.

Alone and by themselves they are sufficient grounds to elect him as President.

They also provide an unassailable platform for him to achieve the things he promised he would do, which ipso facto the other candidates cannot do, because they will lack a similar platform.

As a heavy critic of Nigerians’ ways and methods, not out of hatred but out of tough love, I n I am fully aware of what Nigerians are capable of given the right stimulus. Nigerians are highly impressionable and culturally impregnated with the zeal and drive to survive at all costs, by every means, often without caring whether such means are fair or foul.

Consequently, their ability to step back and question whether what they are doing is morally sound, ethically fair, and scripturally upright, is highly diminished. Provided someone else is succeeding by cutting corners to achieve results, Nigerians will jump like a herd of pigs over a cliff to cut the same corners while aiming to achieve similar success.

This is why, it is quite easy for the bredrin Peter Obi to reset Nigeria, simply by not doing the things he will not and cannot do, some of which are enumerated above. You can safely leave the rest to Nigerians and their ingenuity, their hard work, and their capacity to find a way to break through stone barriers.

Essentially by not doing the things listed above, a President Peter Obi, potential Father of the New Nigeria, would have created the right and proper environment for Nigerians to hustle by themselves and do the rest.

However, I n I will be remiss to not mention the things a President Peter Obi will do.

• He will restore security to Nigeria.
• He will return internally displaced Nigerians to their ancestral homelands.
• He will return Nigerian farmers to their farms and augment their productivity.
• He will rehabilitate and re-equip Nigeria’s hospitals.
• He will raise the standard of education in Nigeria to unprecedented levels.
• He will drastically augment power supply in Nigeria.
• He will restore virtue, civility, and decorum to the public space.
• He will open the floodgates for diaspora Nigerians to return home and the international community to invest in Nigeria.
• He will restore Nigeria’s battered image abroad.

Again, I and I can go on and on, but these few lines will suffice.

What Peter Obi will not do in office as President is more valuable to the welfare and well-being of Nigerians than what the other presidential candidates lacking his rigid self-discipline garrulously promise Nigerians that they will do.

To Peter Obi’s jealous opponents and envious detractors who go about telling Nigerians that Peter Obi cannot perform well or deliver the goods as President, the message is this. What Peter Obi cannot do as President going by his decent nature is of far greater relevance to Nigeria’s current needs in her present pitiable condition, wallowing in desolate quagmire, than what he cannot do well, or whatever his opponents promise they will do better, if elected.

The days of pleading with Nigerians to do right for themselves, and their children, and their children’s children, by voting the right candidate, Peter Obi, as President, and more importantly to defend their votes, with all the might they can muster. Those days are gone.

Nigerians, the choice is all yours, just as the benefits or repercussions will all be yours as well.
