Asante Kotoko have confirmed the departure of 14 first-team players ahead of the 2026/27 Ghana Premier League season.

The Kumasi-based club said the exits followed an assessment of players who were part of the squad during the 2025/26 campaign, as the club begins a new era under director of football Stanley Menzo.

Kotoko said the player exit process had now been completed, with six players leaving after the expiration of their contracts and eight others becoming free agents following mutual agreements to terminate their contracts.

Those whose contracts expired are goalkeeper Mohammed Camara, centre-backs Samba O’Neil and Henry Ansu, midfielder Baba Yahaya, and forwards Peter Amidu Acquah and Albert Amoah.

The club also confirmed that goalkeeper Benjamin Twum, centre-back Zackaria Fuseini, left-back Francis Acquah, midfielder Prince Badu and forwards Isaac Mintah, Kwame Opoku, Johnson Owusu and Elvis Kyei Baffour have left following agreements reached with the club.

The departures form part of a significant squad reshaping by Kotoko as they prepare for the new league campaign under their new technical direction.

Kotoko have already been active in the transfer market, bringing in several players as they look to build a squad capable of challenging for honours in the upcoming season.

The Porcupine Warriors will begin their 2026/27 Ghana Premier League campaign away from home against newly promoted Debibi United.
