Governor Siminalayi Fubara of Rivers State has signed the state’s 2026 Appropriation Bill of N1.84 trillion into law.

The governor asserted the bill on Thursday during a brief ceremony at the Executive Chambers of the Government House in Port Harcourt.

In his remarks, Governor Fubara assured the people of Rivers State that his administration would continue to prioritise their welfare and implement programmes and projects aimed at improving their living conditions.

He also commended members of the Rivers State House of Assembly for the speedy passage of the appropriation bill and assured them of his administration’s continued cooperation in the interest of the state.

The governor also acknowledged the role of the former Rivers State Governor and Minister of the FCT, Nyesom Wike, in facilitating the meeting and the progress that culminated in the passage and signing of the budget.

Earlier, the Leader of the House, Major Jack, urged the executive arm of government to ensure effective and prudent implementation of the budget for the overall benefit of Rivers State.

The passage of the 2026 Appropriation Bill followed the consideration of spending proposals submitted by ministries, departments and agencies of the state government.
