Unite Osun People For Progress— President Tinubu Tells Adeleke Following Re-election
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has congratulated Governor Ademola Adeleke on his re-election as governor of Osun State, urging him to unite the people and focus on the state’s growth, stability and socio-economic development.
Tinubu, in a statement issued on Sunday by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, said he had personally called Adeleke earlier in the day to congratulate him on his victory.
The President described Adeleke’s re-election as a reflection of the confidence reposed in him by the people of Osun State.
“I called Governor Ademola Adeleke earlier today to congratulate him on his election victory in Osun State. His victory once again confirmed the confidence the people of Osun State have in him,” Tinubu said.
The President, while wishing Adeleke success in his second term, charged him to put the election behind him and work towards uniting residents across political divides.
“Now that he has won, Governor Adeleke must unite the people of Osun State and rally them for growth, stability, and social and economic progress, regardless of the political choices they made at the election,” he said.
Tinubu also commended the other governorship candidates for their participation, describing their courage and discipline as contributions to the deepening of Nigeria’s democratic culture.
According to him, the outcome of the election reflected the will of the people and reaffirmed that democracy would continue to thrive in Nigeria.
The President further praised the Independent National Electoral Commission and security agencies for what he described as the peaceful and transparent conduct of the election, which produced a clear winner.
He urged all stakeholders in the state to support the incoming administration in its efforts to promote development and improve the welfare of the people.
