Transfer: Real Madrid Complete Signing Of Dumfries From Inter Milan

By Okiki Oluwasegun

Real Madrid have confirmed the arrival of Dutch international Denzel Dumfries from Inter Milan, with the experienced full-back signing a four-year contract that will keep him at the Santiago Bernabéu until June 2030.

The Spanish giants reportedly paid around €20 million to secure the services of the 30-year-old defender, who becomes another major addition to the squad during a busy summer transfer window.

Dumfries joins Madrid after spending five successful seasons with Inter, where he established himself as one of Serie A’s most consistent attacking full-backs.

During his time in Italy, he helped the Nerazzurri win two league titles and also featured in two UEFA Champions League finals.

The Netherlands international recently represented his country at the 2026 FIFA World Cup before their campaign came to an end following a penalty shootout defeat to Morocco in the Round of 32.

His arrival is expected to increase competition for places at right-back, where England international Trent Alexander-Arnold is also battling for a starting role.

Real Madrid have been active in the transfer market as they look to rebuild after enduring two successive seasons without lifting a major trophy.

The club has already strengthened the squad with the signings of Marc Cucurella, Bernardo Silva and Ibrahima Konate.

The rebuilding process has also included changes in the dugout, with Jose Mourinho returning as head coach.

Meanwhile, experienced defender Antonio Rudiger has extended his stay at the club after Dani Carvajal and David Alaba departed at the end of last season.
