Super Eagles Midfielder Tijani Joins Podbrezová On Loan From Dukla Prague
Nigerian midfielder Samson Tijani has completed a loan switch to Slovakian side FK Železiarne Podbrezová for the 2026/27 campaign, marking his second move in as many years.
The 23-year-old arrives at Podbrezová from Czech First League club Dukla Prague, where he spent last season after arriving on a free transfer from Austrian giants Red Bull Salzburg.
His temporary switch to the Slovakian outfit comes with a clause that could turn the deal permanent, with reports indicating a two-year contract would follow if both parties choose to make the arrangement lasting.
During his single season in Prague, Tijani featured regularly for Dukla, racking up 26 appearances in the Czech top flight as he worked to establish himself in European football.
His performances were enough to catch the eye of the Nigeria Football Federation, earning him a place in the Super Eagles squad assembled for the 2026 Unity Cup tournament.
He saw action in Nigeria’s fixtures against both Zimbabwe and Jamaica during that competition, gaining valuable international experience alongside his club commitments.
The move to Podbrezová represents a fresh chapter for the young Nigerian, who will be hoping regular game time in Slovakia’s top division helps him build on the progress made in Czech football and potentially strengthens his case for a more permanent role with the Super Eagles going forward.
