Nigerian wrestling sensation Oba Femi has received one of the biggest endorsements of his career after WWE legend Brock Lesnar publicly declared him the future of the company following their dramatic Hell in a Cell showdown at SummerSlam.

The emotional moment came after Femi defeated Lesnar in the decisive match of their rivalry on Saturday night at the U.S. Bank Stadium.

Although Lesnar initially exited the arena alongside Paul Heyman after the contest, he unexpectedly returned to the ring to acknowledge his opponent in front of the packed crowd.

Standing beside the reigning King of the Ring, Lesnar embraced Femi before raising his hand in victory. Taking the microphone, the former WWE Champion praised the Nigerian star, telling fans that they had just witnessed the future of WWE.

Pointing to himself, Lesnar described himself as the past before turning his attention to Femi and declaring him the company’s future. He then lifted Femi’s arm once more before leaving the ring, allowing the 2026 breakout star to close the show.

With Lesnar preparing for another chair assault, Femi countered at the perfect moment, knocking the weapon away before connecting with a second devastating Fall from Grace to secure the victory and complete another memorable chapter in his remarkable rise.

Born in Lagos, Nigeria, Oba Femi originally excelled in track and field during his high school and college years before transitioning into professional wrestling.

After joining WWE through its Next In Line (NIL) programme in 2021, he quickly climbed the ranks by winning the 2023 NXT Men’s Breakout Tournament and the 2024 Men’s Iron Survivor Challenge.

Femi’s stock rose even higher in 2026 when he defeated Lesnar at WrestleMania 42, and he has continued his impressive run as the reigning King of the Ring. Lesnar’s public endorsement at SummerSlam is likely to further cement Oba Femi’s position as one of WWE’s brightest stars and a leading figure in the company’s next generation.
