New Patriotic Party (NPP) National Chairman aspirant, Boakye Kyeremateng Agyarko, has denied making disparaging comments about his contender, John Boadu.

Mr Agyarko said claims attributed to him are fabricated and published by individuals seeking to create tension among the candidates ahead of the party’s national executive elections.

He stressed that he had never publicly attacked Mr Boadu or any of his political opponents and questioned why he would resort to such comments when he had nothing to gain from them.

“I have not made any comment about John Boadu publicly whatsoever. That is not my style. I have been on radio constantly since 2010. You cannot pick one instance where I have been uncharitable to even my opponents, much less my party people. I have not made any such comment,” he said.

Mr Agyarko, speaking to some NPP delegates in a video seen by ModernGhana News, instead accused Mr Boadu of repeatedly making comments about his age and physical condition in the course of the chairmanship contest.

He urged delegates to treat publications attributed to him with caution, describing some of them as propaganda intended to influence the outcome of the contest.

“I have not said anything like that, and I won’t say anything like that. I don’t need to say it; others who observe him or me will say what they need to say. I don’t need to open my mouth to say anything because it is below my dignity,” he added.

The NPP is scheduled to hold its national executive elections on October 3, 2026, with Mr Agyarko, Mr Boadu, Sammy Crabbe and Paul Afoko among the prominent contenders for the National Chairman position.
