Nigeria: Governor Fubara Nominates Nine for Rivers State Cabinet

Rivers State Governor Sim Fubara has officially submitted a list of nine commissioner nominees to the State House of Assembly for legislative review. This move marks a significant step in the administration’s efforts to solidify its executive team and advance its governance agenda.
In a formal notice issued by the Clerk of the House, Emeka Amadi, the candidates were instructed to complete several administrative requirements before their appearance. To facilitate the screening and confirmation process, each nominee must provide the following items to the Office of the Clerk at the Assembly Complex in Port Harcourt:
- Professional Documentation: Forty copies of their updated Curriculum Vitae.
- Academic Verification: Photocopies of all relevant educational and professional credentials.
- Financial Standing: Documented evidence of tax compliance.
The Assembly is expected to begin the evaluation of these individuals shortly to ensure that the state leadership remains robust and fully operational.

- Mr. Tonye Bellgam
- Professor Temple Nwofor
- Dr. Peters Nwagor
- Mrs. Charity Deemua
- Tamuno Williams, Esq.
- Mr. Lekue Kenneth
- Otonye TKD Amachree, Esq.
- Sir Amairigha Edward Hart
Some of the nominees are known professionals in their respective fields. Professor Alasia, for instance, is a former Chairman of the Nigerian Medical Association (NMA) Rivers State chapter and a consultant respiratory physician.
The documentation exercise signals the next stage in the legislative process, as lawmakers prepare to screen and possibly confirm the nominees to serve in various ministries across the state.
