Lawyer Justin Frimpong Kodua has formally announced his intention to seek re‑election as General Secretary of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) as the party begins preparations for its next internal elections.

In a Facebook post on Sunday, July 26, Mr. Kodua reaffirmed his readiness to continue steering the party’s administrative machinery, emphasising unity and renewal following the NPP’s defeat in the 2024 general elections.

Prepared. Well‑positioned. Focused. REBUILD. Together, let’s bring the NPP back to victory in 2028,” he declared.

Mr. Kodua has served as the party’s chief administrator since 2022, after defeating then‑incumbent John Boadu at the National Delegates Conference held at the Accra Sports Stadium. He secured 2,837 votes to take over the position, ending Mr. Boadu’s four‑year tenure.

Before rising to the General Secretary role, Kodua served as Chief Executive Officer of the Youth Employment Agency (YEA), where he supervised the rollout of youth employment programmes nationwide.

His latest declaration sets the stage for a competitive internal contest as the NPP reorganises and rebuilds ahead of the 2028 polls.
